Easter at Good Shepherd: From Seeking to Seeing

    • We live in imagined hopes and fears

    • The Marys come in grief, seeking Jesus, who was crucified

    • The cross answers our deepest need

    2. Come and See

    • “He is not here, He has risen”

    • The empty tomb changes everything

    • The resurrection confirms the work is finished

    3. He Goes Before You

    • Fear and great joy as the response

    • Jesus meets them on the way

    • The promise: He is alive and already ahead of you

  2. What message did the angel give to the women?

  3. What does it mean that they were seeking “Jesus who was crucified”?

  4. What invitation did the angel extend to the women?

  1. What kinds of situations do you find yourself “imagining,” either with hope or fear?

  2. How have you experienced grief as something that comes in waves?

  3. Where in your life do you most need to hear, “Do not be afraid”?

  4. When you think about Jesus, do you focus more on His teaching or His crucifixion and resurrection? Why?

  5. What are you currently seeking for meaning, peace, or identity?

  6. What would it look like for you to move from “seeking” to truly “seeing” Christ at work?

  7. How does the resurrection give you assurance that your sins are forgiven?

  8. Have you experienced the tension of “fear and great joy”? What did that look like?

  9. Where might Jesus already be “going before you” in your life right now?

  10. What would it look like this week to respond in worship—practically and personally—to the risen Christ??
